As PalmOS users do know, this wonderful OS is not capable of multitasking, however Saguaro is a powerful kernel that will simulate multitasking by opening multiple widgets on the launcher. We warn you that this program is a resource eater. More at Saguaru

My youngest daughter has become a fan of Palm already. It's amazing that without me teaching her, she knows how to launch apps and play with the pda. She's also learnt to play some music. As I have very important information there, I have charged my old Tungsten T and now it's her own device! The pictures have been taken with the Treo 750v

Review of Buzz, the best call-filter for Palm PDF Print E-mail

If you are a busy man and get many phone calls, you'll definitely need to protect yourself from unwanted phone calls or preserve you spare time by filtering the calls. If this is the case, Buzz of Tinysoft is exactly what you're looking for.

Buzz does exactly what is supposed to do: it filters phone calls depending on the setup. You can, for example, divert certain calls to the voice mail or even make the line to be busy. This great app includes an mp3 player to record your own messages to be played when certain calls arrive.

Buzz also includes a powerful tool to lock unwanted SMSs or spam ones and I can grant you that it works flawlessly. You can also set up a DND (do not disturb) situation on which you won't be annoyed by any call or SMS.

As I said, it's one of the best program we have tried for the Treo 650. I wish there was a Windows Mobile version for the 750v.

Palm will release a firmware update for the Treo 750v PDF Print E-mail

Palm is planning to release a firmware update to the Treo 750v that will increase the speed of connection, as it seems the device is HSDPA ready. The update will take place during Q1 2007.

I was told by representatives of Palm and Vodafone New Zealand that the Palm Treo 750v is indeed HSDPA-ready, and a ROM update will be available sometime around Q1 2007 enabling an even faster connection from this device. Great news for people wanting to use it as a wireless modem for their laptops and desktop, which can be done easily over Bluetooth.

Awesome!! [via Geekzone]

Iambic has just released a new launcher named Propel which add the search feature similar to Spotlite on Macs and that was used by Initiate on the Treos. The launcher looks awesome and has a lot of features.

Propel comes in two different editions: standard and professional (see the differences)

Propel is the ultimate launcher for your Palm OS powered PDA or smartphone. If you have a Treo, try Propel and you'll be amazed at how snappy andstraightforward launching applications, finding your contacts andkeeping in touch will be. Once you start using it, you'll wonder howyou ever did without it.

Treo 750v, almost perfect PDF Print E-mail

I have to admit that I was wrong when I critized the agreement between Microsoft and Palm to equip the Treos with Windows Mobile. Man, what a marriage. The 750v has rapidly become my main smartphone and I have got rid of my beloved 650.

The form factor is awesome, the new Treos are slim and perfectly finished and the rubbered coat makes it very comfortable in your hand. The price for this size is, in revenge, the battery: too small and not powerful enough for such a smartphone. 1400 mAh would be enough, and I think the people of Seidio are working on a more powerful battery in the same size.

Another big mistake, leaving the battery aside, is the miniSD slot: is not on the top anymore and it has a door. That's perfect for conventional cards, but awful if you put a wifi card. It's almost impossible to hold the Treo in the hand with the card inserted.

The UMTS navigation works flawlessly. I have a tiny data plan with Vodafone but is more than enough to check the mail every so on and do a short web surfing. I amazing to have a DSL connection in your pocket.

The camera, once again, sucks. I hope someday Palm will learn of Nokia and put a decent camera on the Treo. You'll need a hundred shots to get a decent picture, and always outdoors. Never dear to do it indoors.

As we exclusively announced on December the 10th, Seidio has just hit the market with this battery that will make the Treo to stay more than a week nonstop working. It's odd though, that newer models come with such poor batteries. More details at Seidio

One of the best features of the Treo 750v is the fact of being a 3G/UMTS device. We have tested it and it flies... However, as you will notice in the test I make, the speed is not very high but there is a tweak that improves this speed

New Treos: 2400 mAh are not enough PDF Print E-mail
News & Rumors

The new Treos, the 680 and 750v come with a 1200 mAh battery which compared with the 1800 mAh of the 650, seem to not be enough for such powerful devices. From my own experience on the 750v, it's normal that I reach back home with a 15-10% of remaining battery after a day of normal use. I mean normal, making/receiving a couple phone calls and checking the mail every 2 hours. This being the case, the user will have two options: have a spare battery or go for a Seidio extended battery, but paying the price of increasing the size of the device.

It's odd, anyhow that Palm has designed such powerful devices, capable of substituting a laptop with such a weak battery life...
